Cardiology Services
Private Cardiology Care at Wellzone
Heart-related symptoms can be worrying, particularly when their cause is unclear. Our cardiology service provides access to an experienced cardiologist who can assess your symptoms, review your medical history and determine whether further investigation is required.
From an initial cardiology consultation to an echocardiogram, each stage of your care is tailored to your individual symptoms and cardiovascular health.

Cardiology Consultation
A private cardiology consultation provides the opportunity to discuss your symptoms and concerns directly with a specialist. Your cardiologist will review your medical history, current medication, lifestyle factors and any previous test results.
Following the assessment, the cardiologist will explain the findings and recommend suitable next steps. These may include an echocardiogram or other investigations where clinically appropriate.
When to Consider a Cardiology Consultation
- Chest discomfort or tightness
- Heart palpitations
- An irregular or unusually fast heartbeat
- Shortness of breath
- Dizziness or fainting
- Reduced exercise tolerance
- High blood pressure
- Unexplained fatigue
- A known heart condition requiring review
- A family history of cardiovascular disease

Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram, sometimes called an echo, is an ultrasound scan that creates images of the heart. It allows the structure of the heart, its valves and pumping function to be assessed without using radiation. NHS guidance and the British Heart Foundation provide further patient information about the test.
An echocardiogram may be recommended to investigate symptoms, assess how effectively the heart is working or monitor an existing cardiovascular condition.
What Can an Echocardiogram Assess?
- The size and structure of the heart
- How effectively the heart pumps blood
- The movement of the heart muscle
- The function of the heart valves
- Blood flow through the heart
- Certain structural abnormalities
